Judge Approves Settlement for Owners Affected by Tainted Pet Food
Today, US District Judge Noel Hillman approved a $24 million settlement for US pet owners whose pets got sick or died after eating tainted pet food last year. This ruling means pet owners with claims may start receiving checks next year.
In Canada, a hearing is set for November 3 to decide whether the same settlement can be approved there, too.
Nearly 6000 pet owners have already claimed damages as a result of the contaminated pet food and many more owners are expected to come forward.
If you or someone you know has been affected, claims must be filed by November 24, 2008. You can find out more about making a claim at http://www.petfoodsettlement.com/
